Sophie
Powell is the author of the novel The Mushroom
Man (Putnam Penguin), which explores childhood
fantasies as well as messy adult truths about family
relationships. The book received glowing reviews,
including one from the New York Times Book Review
and was translated into several languages.
She has also published short stories and non-fiction
in publications such as Town And Country Travel
and Time Out New York.
Sophie has taught creative writing at Boston College,
Georgetown University, George Washington University,
Grub Street Writers and at workshops abroad.
